Abstract

Akar masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah kenyataan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan koneksi matematis siswa masih rendah, dan pembelajaran matematika yang terjadi selama ini kurang menekankan pada usaha memampukan siswa mengonstruksi pengetahuan, sehingga siswa kesulitan berkoneksi secara matematis dan memecahkan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah yang valid dan efektif.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang mengacu pada model pengembangan Four-D. Subjeknya adalah siswa SMP Negeri 27 Medan kelas VIII. Sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran berbasis model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar.Perangkat yang dikembangkan pada penelitian ini yaitu RPP, buku petunjuk guru, buku siswa, lembar aktivitas siswa (LAS) serta tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan koneksi matematis. Berdasarkan hasil validasi diperoleh perangkat pembelajaran yang valid dengan nilai rata-rata total untuk validasi rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) sebesar 4,31, buku petunjuk guru sebesar 4,26, buku siswa sebesar 4,35, dan Lembar Aktivitas Siswa (LAS) sebesar 4,31. Sedangkan untuk tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan koneksi telah memenuhi kriteria valid menurut ahli dengan catatan perlu sedikit revisi.Temuan hasil penelitian yakni: 1) perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan, berupa: rencana pembelajaran, buku petunjuk guru, buku siswa, lembar aktivitas siswa, dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan koneksi matematis telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan efektif. Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran disimpulkan berdasarkan pada: (i) persentase ketercapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan koneksi matematis siswa yaitu 88,89% dari 36 siswa yang mengikuti tes. (ii) ketercapaian persentase waktu ideal untuk setiap kategori aktivitas siswa, (iii) respons siswa terhadap komponen dan kegiatan pembelajaran adalah positif. 2) kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah mengalami peningkatan.
