Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) hasil belajar materi alat musik tradisional siswa kelas VIII SMPS Parulian 1 Medan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori, (2) hasil belajar yang diperoleh setelah diterapkannya strategi pembelajaran contextual teaching & learning dalam materi alat musik tradisional di kelas VIII SMP Swasta Parulian 1 Medan, dan (3) pengaruh strategi pembelajaran contextual teaching & learning terhadap hasil belajar alat musik tradisional di kelas VIII SMP Swasta Parulian 1 Medan. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan True Experimental dengan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Swasta Parulian 1 Medan yang berjumlah 61 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling yaitu kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 20 orang dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 21 orang. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa tes hasil belajar yang berbentuk pilihan berganda sebanyak 20 soal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji homogenitas dengan menggunakan uji F, uji normalitas dengan menggunakan uji liliefors, dan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t pada taraf signifikan  = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) secara statistik dengan menggunakan uji t disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran contextual teaching & learning dengan siswa yang diajarkan dengan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori di kelas VIII SMP Swasta Parulian 1 Medan, (2) rata-rata nilai pretest siswa dikelas eksperimen siswa 36,25 dan rata-rata nilai posttest yaitu sebesar 83,00. Sedangkan rata-rata nilai pretest dikelas kontrol yaitu 40,24 dan rata-rata nilai posttest yaitu sebesar 58,57, dan (3) peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi alat musik tradisional yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran contextual teaching & learning memberikan hasil belajar yang lebih tinggi daripada peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t diperoleh thitung > ttabel ( 2,05 > 2,038) maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima dengan kata lain bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan strategi pembelajaran contextual teaching & learning terhadap hasil belajar alat musik tradisional di kelas VIII SMP Swasta Parulian 1 Medan. Persentase pengaruh strategi pembelajaran contextual teaching & learning terhadap hasil belajar diperoleh hasil sebesar 41,71%.
