Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk: a) mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis flipped classroom yang dikembangkan pada keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa, dan b) mengetahui keefektifan media pembelajaran berbasis flipped classroom yang dikembangkan pada peningkatan keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D. Prosedur dan rancangan diadaptasi dari model Gall, Gall & Borg dan Dick, Carey & Carey, sedangkan untuk desain uji coba efektivitas yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan nonequivalent comparison group design. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: a) kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis flipped classroom yang dikembangkan pada keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa diperoleh validasi ahli materi 82.11% dengan skor rata-rata 4.11 kriteria layak; validasi ahli media 81.18% dengan skor rata-rata 4.06 kriteria layak; validasi ahli desain 76.00% dengan skor rata-rata 3.80 kriteria layak; validasi ahli praktisi 94.33% dengan skor rata-rata 4.72 kriteria sangat layak; uji coba evaluasi perorangan 98.86% dengan skor rata-rata 4.94 kriteria akseptansi sangat tinggi; uji coba evaluasi kelompok kecil 88.00% dengan skor rata-rata 4.40 kriteria akseptansi sangat tinggi; uji coba evaluasi lapangan 91.55% dengan skor rata-rata 4.58 kriteria akseptansi sangat tinggi. b) keefektifan media pembelajaran berbasis flipped classroom yang dikembangkan pada peningkatan keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen yaitu siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berbasis flipped classroom dengan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas kontrol yaitu siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berbasis direct instruction pada taraf signifikansi 0.05 atau 5%. Hasil dari perhitungan Uji-T pada nilai postest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menunjukkan bahwa thitung > ttabel yaitu 3.086 > 2.012. Terbukti dari nilai rata-rata hasil belajar posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dengan perolehan skor rata-rata sebesar 86.44 dari pada hasil belajar posttest kelas kontrol dengan perolehan skor rata-rata sebesar 80.70. Dengan demikian, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis flipped classroom yang dikembangkan layak digunakan pada keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa.
