Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya persentase peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar sains siswa pada materi sifat-sifat cahaya melalui penerapan pendekatan konstruktivisme dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT di kelas V SDN 010145 Labuhan Ruku T.P 2013/2014. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yaitu sebuah penelitian kolaboratif dengan teman sejawat untuk menciptakan kinerja sekolah yang lebih baik. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 32 orang, terdiri dari 17 siswa perempuan dan 15 siswa laki-laki. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk essai sebanyak 10 soal dan lembar observasi aktivitas siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif.Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan konstruktivisme dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT terbukti dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar sains siswa pada materi sifat-sifat cahaya di kelas V, hal ini dibuktikan dari: 1) terjadi peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa sebesar 28% melalui penerapan pendekatan konstruktivisme dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT pada materi sifat-sifat cahaya di kelas V, yaitu pada siklus I terdapat 56% siswa yang tergolong aktif belajar dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 84% siswa yang tergolong aktif belajar. 2) terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 57,1% setelah diterapkan tindakan siklus I dibandingkan sebelum tindakan yaitu rata-rata nilai pretest sebelum diberikan tindakan sebesar 13,34 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 0% dan setelah dilakukan tindakan siklus I, hasil belajar sains siswa meningkat dengan rata-rata nilai postest sebesar 62,81 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 66%; selanjutnya setelah dilakukan perbaikan pada siklus II, hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 49,1% dibandingkan siklus I, serta mengalami peningkatan sebesar 78,1% dibandingkan sebelum diberikan tindakan (prasiklus) yaitu dengan rata-rata postest siklus II sebesar 81,06 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 91%; 3) ranah kognitif siswa yang berkembang setelah dilakukan siklus I adalah C2 sebesar 89,7% (tinggi); C1 sebesar 89,1% (tinggi); C3 sebesar 74,3% (tinggi); C5 sebesar 59,3% (sedang); C4 sebesar 50,4% (sedang); dan C6 sebesar 31,1% (sedang). Setelah dilakukan tindakan siklus II, ranah kognitif siswa yang berkembang adalah C2 sebesar 100% (tinggi); C1 sebesar 96,7% (tinggi); C3 sebesar 94,4% (tinggi); C6 sebesar 75,8% (tinggi); C5 sebesar 69,0% (sedang); dan C4 sebesar 64,2% (sedang).
