Abstract
Aerosol, umumnya dikenal sebagai Partkel (PM), adalah salah satu yang utama spesies polusi udara. Aerosol dalam troposfer dapat mempengaruhi iklim bumi secara langsung dan tidak langsung. Tergantung pada ukuran, jenis, dan lokasi, aerosol dapat mendinginkan permukaan, atau menghangatkannya. Mereka dapat membantu awan terbentuk, atau dapat menghambat pembentukan awan. Dan jika terhirup, aerosol bisa berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia.Dan penelitian ini menggunakan metode penginderaan jauh pada satelit Modis dengan melakukan pemodelan probability Matlab framework dan probability distribution untuk penyebaran aerosol setiap pixel, dan melakukan pemodelan pemetaan penyebaran aerosol average untuk 12 bulan. Parameter terukur yang diamati adalah aerosol optical depth (AOD), merupakan ukuran seberapa banyak sinar matahari yang dapat menembus atmosfer. Semakin besar nilai suatu aerosol optical depth akan mempengaruhi suatu iklim. Aerosol yang lebih banyak menyerap radiasi dari pada memantulkannya, dapat menghangatkan lapisan atmosfer. Namun, juga mampu menghalangi radiasi sehingga mendinginkan. Semakin besar nilai suatu AOD menandakan semakin besar suatu konsentrasi aerosol di atmosfer. Nilai AOD yang kurang dari 1 menunjukkan dominasi optik partikel-partikel kasar seperti debu, abu, semprotan laut. Sedangkan nilai dominasi lebih besar dari 1, partikel halus seperti asap, dan polusi industri. Dan yang mana halnya aerosol yang pekat mempengaruhi tingkat kekeruhan atmosfer yang tentunya berimbas pada jarak pandang kita ke sekitar.
