The Form and The Meaning of Puzzles in Batak Toba Language

This study aims to describe the form of the puzzle seen from the image puzzle in the Batak Toba language and describe the kind of meaning contained in puzzle in Batak Toba language.
This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research is a puzzle in the language of the Toba Batak of the interview with the students of the Toba Batak and also a video uploaded on your youtube account. Data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative techniques that produce the presentation of descriptive data in the form of a sentence or a word in the puzzle.
The results of the research shows that There are three kinds of imagery which depict shape puzzles in Batak Toba language, namely the imagery of vision, image motion and image touch. The puzzles in the Batak Toba language describes or depicts something that stimulates the reader or listener to see, feel, though in the space of the delusion. The kind of meaning contained in puzzle Batak Toba obtained six types of meaning, i.e. the conceptual meaning, connotative meanings, the meaning refelektif, meaning kolokatif, the meaning of social/stilistik, and the meaning of thematic. Analysis of the types of meaning in this research, with emphasis on a puzzle to study the meaning of puzzles in Batak Toba language.
