BIOLOGY INFORMATION LITERACY ABILITY OF GRADE X STUDENT ON THE PROTIST TOPIC USING THE BIG6 MODEL IN SMA NEGERI 4 MEDAN

This study was aimed to determine student information literacy at SMAN 4 Medan in completing assignments related to Protista topic. This study was a survey research methods using a questionnaire. The questionnaire arranged based on The Big6 information literacy skill compiled by Eisenberg. The sample on this research was taken by simple random sampling technique. Data analyzed by percentage formula. The results showed the student information literacy ability was classified as good categories with 77.38% average percentage. Based on The Big6 skills, students have excellent abilities in task definition (83.3%), classified as good in information searching strategies (75.6%), classified as good in location and access (70.6%), classified as good in use of information (74.3%), classified as good in synthesis (78.9%), and classified as excellent in evaluation (82.6%). This study was expected to provide schools reference for maintain and improve students information literacy skills.
