Abstract

The problem of the study is the outcome of learning on basic work subjects of Mechanical Engineering in 10th year SMK Negeri 2 Binjai in academic year of 2019/2020. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying numbered head together model in basic work of mechanical engineering in 10th year SMK Negeri 2 Binjai academic year 2019/2020. The study was carried out SMK Negeri 2 Binjai with classroom action research (CAR) consisting of 2 cycles. Each cycle 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) observation, 4) reflection. Sample of the study are 30 students of class X welding techniques of SMK Negeri 2 Binjai. Data collection method is by observation sheet of student and teacher in learning and test scores on learning outcomes. Based on data analysis, student learning outcomes increase with completeness on basic work of Mechanical Engineering in class X welding method of SMK Negeri 2 Binjai. In th first cycle the percentage of mastery learning outcomes of students was 53.33% with the number of students who reached the minimum completeness criteria are 16 students with the average 69.86. While in the second cycle increased to 86.67% with 24 students who reached the minimum completeness criteria with the average 77.33. The result indicate that there is an increase in learning outcomes of the basic work of Mechanical Engineering materials using basic measuring instruments and comparative measuring instruments by applying learning model of numbered head together on Welding Engineering class X of SMK Negeri 2 Binjai in academic year of 2019/2020
