Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of biology laboratories and students learning outcomes biology class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Binjai. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA which consisted of eight classes. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling with the consideration of the biology teacher who taught the class. The research samples were class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 5. To obtain data on laboratory utilization, a questionnaire was given to two classes of research samples. To find out the learning outcomes of students' biology learning outcomes tests were used on the excretion system material and the respiratory system which were practical materials. From the results of the questionnaire data processing, 73.79% was obtained which was classified as high. Meanwhile, the results of the learning outcomes test obtained an average of 87.88. After analyzing the data, it turns out that there is a relationship between the use of biological laboratories and the students' biology learning outcomes with a correlation coefficient of 0.32% which is low and a contribution of 10.24%.
