The Implementation of the 2013 Curriculum Based On Literacy in Al Ulum Senior High School

The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of Curriculum 2013-based literacy in Al Ulum Senior High School and to explore the problems in its implementation . The data sources of this study were the English teacher, the principal, librarian and also school’s environment of Al Ulum Senior High School. It was a qualitative research that observed with a single-case study. The instruments were observation and interview. The researcher observed the English teaching-learning process and school’s environment to observe the implementation of Curriculum 2013-based literacy. An interview was also conducted to get the data about the implementation of Curriculum 2013-based literacy and the problems occured in its implementation.The results of the study show that: (1) the problems in literacys’ implementation in Al Ulum Senior High School were about unscheduled of reading time in and out of the teaching-learning process, the students’ lack interest of reading, students’ indiscipline of treating the book collections in literacy’s corner, and the different location of main library with the school building and as a result, the students are seldom to visit the library. (2 )the implementation of Curriculum 2013-based Literacy in Al Ulum Senior High School were conducted in some programs namely pre-reading activity (Tahsinul Qur’an) related to one main target of this school namely Tahfidzul Qur’an, literacy’s implementation in the teaching-learning process, literacy’s corner in each classroom, library visit, the increasing and adjusting library’s book collections, book donations by the XII grade students, literacy’s events just like language month and wall magazine competition and school environment based literacy,
