Metaphor Translation Strategies in Indonesian Version of Dan Brown's Origin Novel

The aims of this study was to investigate the metaphor translatton strategies; in lndonestan version of Dan Brown 's OnKm ovel. The research was conducted by using qualitative design. data are words. phrase, clauses and sentences that
contain metaphor in novel Dan Brown's Origin Novel, consisting 610 page and Indonesian version by Inggrid Dwijayani consisting 516 pages with the same title The data were collected applying documentary technique. The result of this study revealed that: the kinds of metaphor in Origin Novel found by the researcher namely recent metaphor ( 11 % ), standard metaphor ( 49%), cliche metaphor ( 26%)
and dead metaphor ( 11%). The dominant metaphor is standard metaphor. meanwhile there were no Origin and adapted metaphor that can be found in the novel. then the types of metaphor translation strategy in Origin Novel found by the researcher namely translating the SL metaphor into the same metaphor m the
SL (49°o), translating the SL in the TL by explanation (33%), translating the SL metaphor into a simile ( 12°/o) and translating the metaphor into a non-metaphonc
(6%) Translating the SL metaphor into the same metaphor in the SL is the most type that can be found in Origin Novel by Dan Brown Finally, context, of translation m Origin Novel were translated by applying two content, namely.
Linguistic context (88%) and Social cultural context ( 12%).
