Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) melalui penggunaan media kartu soal pada pokok bahasan larutan penyangga di SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. Sampel penelitian sebanyak dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dengan bantuan media kartu soal, dan kelas kontrol diberi perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes dan non tes yang telah diujicobakan dan telah valid serta reliabel, dengan nilai r11 = 0.849 sedangkan rtabel = 0.329. Data peningkatan hasil belajar siswa terlebih dahulu diuji normalitas dan homogenitasnya, dimana hasil yang didapat kedua kelompok sampel homogen (1.4 < 1.97) dan berdistribusi normal (3.36 < 11.07). Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t-satu pihak yaitu pihak kanan, dengan hasil penelitian ini pada taraf signifikansi 5% (α = 0,05) menunjukkan bahwa thitung > ttabel (7.88 > 1.6749) maka Ho ditolak. Dengan demikian, peningkatan hasil belajar kimia siswa pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT melalui media kartu soal lebih tinggi dibandingkan peningkatan hasil belajar kimia siswa pada pembelajaran konvensional. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dihitung dengan bentuk gain ternormalisasi dan didapatkan persen peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 72% dan kelas kontrol sebesar 49%. Uji korelasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aktivitas siswa terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rhitung > rtabel (0.577 > 0.374) maka H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara aktivitas siswa dengan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dengan bantuan media kartu soal. Kontribusi aktivitas siswa terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen yaitu sebesar 33.4%.
