The Stylistic Features of Susi Pudjiastuti’s Caption in Instagram. English Applied Linguistics

The study dealt with the stylistic features of Susi Pudjiastuti’s Caption in Instagram. The objectives of the study were, 1) to investigate the stylistic features realized by Susi Pudjiastuti in instagram, 2) to describe the ways of the stylistic features realized by Susi Pudjiastuti in Instagram, and 3) to reason for the occurrences of stylistic features realized by Susi Pudjiastuti in Instagram. The study employed a qualitative research. The types of the stylistic features were analyzed by using Simpson theory. The data of this study were sentences and clauses which were gotten from Susi Pudjiastuti’s captions in Instagram which were collected by documentary technique. The data were analyzed by using interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results of the study showed that: 1) graphological level 30%, morphological level 25%, grammatical level 25%, and semantically level 15%. 2) The ways of the stylistic features realized were 20% grammatical structure and 80% vocabulary. 3) Susi Pudjiastuti realized the stylistic features based on four reasons; 5% participant, 50 % topic, 35% social context, and 10 % function. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the stylistic features of Susi Pudjiastuti using four types namely graphological level, morphological level, grammatical level, and semantically level. The stylistic features were applied through the ways grammatical structure and vocabulary. Participant, social context, topic and function were the reasons of the stylistic features realized by Susi Pudjiastuti in Instagram. This study also found the data that categorized as the prepositional phrase type. It was indicated by preposition usage “di” combined to subject “kita” become di kita is considered as the new finding.
