Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif untuk meneliti model pemberdayaan Penenun
Ulos di Desa Lumban Suhi-suhi kecamatan Pangururan kabupaten Samosir propinsi
Sumatera Utara. Generasi muda semakin tidak peduli dengan menenun kain ulos, padahal
teknik dan cara menenun kain ulos merupakan tradisi yang harus dilestarikan dan diwariskan
kepada generasi selanjutnya. Seharusnya generasi muda harus tetap melastarikan kegiatan
menenun karena tidak semua daerah mempunyai kearifan lokal ulos kain khas Batak Toba
Untuk itu di perlukan solusi agar generasi muda di Desa Lumban Suhi-suhi tetap
melestarikan kegiatan menenun. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan profil penenun ulos
dan hambatan-hambatan yang dihadapi Penenun Ulos serta menjelaskan model
pemberdayaan Penenun Ulos di Desa Lumban Suhi-suhi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah
memberikan suatu kesimpulan tentang perlunya penerapan model pemberdayaan di Desa
Lumban Suhi-suhi.
