Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang diawali dengan penelitian pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran untuk topik persamaan linear satu variabel di kelas VII SMP dengan menggunakan pendekatan PMR. Penelitian pengembangan bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika realistik yang baik untuk topik persamaan linear satu variabel. Perangkat pembelajaran tersebut selanjutnya digunakan dalam penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PMR dan melihat apakah hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan PMR lebih baik dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan konvensional.Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Santo Thomas IV Medan tahun ajaran 2011/2012 yang terdiri dari 3 kelas paralel. Secara acak dipilih satu kelas simulasi, satu kelas ujicoba. Untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran yang baik/valid, digunakan model 4-D Thiagarajan, Semmel, dan Semmel yang telah dimodifikasi. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan, berupa: (1) rencana pembelajaran, (2) buku petunjuk guru, (3) buku siswa, (4) lembar kegiatan siswa, dan (5) tes hasil belajar. Berdasarkan ujicoba pembelajaran menggunakan perangkat tersebut, ditemukan bahwa: (l) kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran baik, (2) aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran efektif, dan (3) respon siswa terhadap perangkat pembelajaran positif. Selain itu, perangkat tes hasH belajar memenuhi kriteria valid, reliabel, dan sensitif.Ketercapaian keefektifan pembelajaran matematika realistik didasarkan pada: (1) Ketuntasan belajar; (2) Kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran; (3) Aktivitas siswa; dan (4) Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran. Jika paling sedikit tiga aspek dari empat aspek tersebut terpenuhi, dengan syarat aspek ketuntasan belajar dipenuhi maka pembelajaran tersebut dinyatakan tersebut dinyatakan efektif.Pada penelidan ini digunakan analisis deskriptif. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran matematika realistik dalam mengajarkan topik persamaan linear satu variabel dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan.Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif diperoleh bahwa pembelajaran marematika realistik efektif untuk mengajarkan topik persamaan linear satu variabel. Syarat-syarat keefektifan pembelajaran matematika realistik. telah terpenuhi, yaitu antara lain: (1) Ketuntasan belajar secara secara klasikal: tuntas. yaitu sebanyak 92,5% siswa dari skor total hasil tes; (2) kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran: efektif; (3) aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran: efektif; dan (4) respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran: positif.
