Abstract

At present, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), especially computer multimedia and internet resources, is an indispensable tool in learning. This paper investigates the use of Information and Communication Technology to Biology learning in SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The method used in this study is a survey method and sampling is done by purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was 3 Biology teachers and 96 students from class X
MIPA-2, XI MIPA-4, and XII MIPA-3, where the sample was asked to fill out a questionnaire and answer some open questions. The percentage results show that the Biology teacher at SMA Negeri 1 Percut Se Tuan has used Information and Communication Technology in Biology learning both
in class and in the Biology laboratory and using the internet as a learning resource. There are several problems revealed related to the use of Information and Communication Technology in Biology learning due to technical matters such as: inadequate availability of facilities and training on the use of Information and Communication Technology that are less implemented more
intensively.
