Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in science lessons in Class IX of SMP Negeri 6 Tebing Tinggi. This research was conducted in class IX with research subjects were students of Class IX-1 of SMP Negeri 6 Tebing Tinggi T. P. 2018/2019consisting of 33 people. This type of research is Classroom Action Research, carried out in two cycles by using the Jelajah Alam Sekitar methods (JAS). Some conclusions that can be drawn from the results of this study are:(1) student learning outcomes using the the Jelajah Alam Sekitar methods (JAS)in cycle 1 has an average of 64.24. (2) Student learning outcomes in cycle 2 have an average value of 80.0. (3)The achievement of learning classically using the the Jelajah Alam Sekitar methods (JAS)in cycle 1 is 51.5%. (4) The achievement of learning classically by using the Jelajah Alam Sekitar methods
(JAS)in cycle 2 is 90.9%. (5) An increase in the average student learning outcomes from cycle 1 to cycle 2 is 15.76. (6) There is an increase in classical achievement from cycle 1 to cycle 2 of 39.4%. (7) There was an increase in learning outcomes of students who were taught using the Jelajah Alam Sekitar methods (JAS)in learning science in class IX-1 of SMP Negeri 6 Tebing Tinggi T.P 2018/2019.
