Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini: (1) Untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, (2) Untuk mengetahaui aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, dan (3) Untuk mengetahui persepsi yang diberikan siswa terhadap pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD.Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Bangko Pusako Jalan lintas Riau Sumut Komplek Pendidikan Pematang lbul. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 tahun pelajaran 2010/2011 sebanyak 21 orang yang terdiri dari 9 orang laki-laki dan 12 orang perempuan. Objek pada penelitian ini adalah kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa dan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD.Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus yaitu siklus I terdiri dari 3 pertemuan dan siklus II terdiri dari 3 pertemuan. Tes kemampuan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa dilakukan di awal dan akhir setiap siklus. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini dapat dilihat dari: (1) Hasil tes kemampuan komunikasi matematika siklus I diketahui nilai rata-rata 57,74, tuntas 12 orang, tidak tuntas 9 orang, ketuntasan klasikal 57,14%, dan peningkatan komunikasi matematika siswa berkategori rendah. (2) Hasil tes kemampuan komunikasi matematika siklus I diketahui nilai rata-rata 76,48, tuntas 19 orang, tidak tuntas 2 orang, ketuntasan klasikal 90,48%, dan peningkatan komunikasi matematika siswa berkategori sedang. (3) Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif Tipe STAD dapatmembuat aktivitas siswa berkategori baik dalam pembelajaran, dan (4) Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif Tipe STAD dapat memberikan persepsi positifbagi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.
