DEVELOPING TEACHING MEDIA FOR TEACHING WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT BASED ON PICTURE AND PICTURE METHOD AT EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP PRAYATNA MEDAN

The aim of this study is to develop teaching media appropriately for teaching writing descriptive text based on picture and picture method at eighth grade students of SMP Prayatna Medan. This research used Reseach and Development (R&D) method through six steps: gathering information and data, analyzing data, designing media, validating by experts, revising, and final product. The subjects of this research were class VIII grade students of SMP Prayatna Medan. The instrument of collecting data was interview and quessionaires. The data were analyzed by rating scale. The result of the product from the first validator’s evaluation was 70% (fair) and from the second validator’s evaluation was 80% (good). It means that the media was developed is suitable to be used for teaching writing descriptive text at eighth grade students of SMP Prayatna Medan.
