ANALISIS KEGIATAN PRAKTIKUM PADA MATA PELAJARAN BIOLOGI DI SMA NEGERI 1 TEBING TINGGI PADA SEMESTER GENAP T.P. 2017/2018

Learning implementation of practicum is an important activity carried out especially in Biology. This study aimed to know the implementation of biological
practicum, condition of laboratory, and obstacle in the implementation of Biology practicum activities at SMA Negeri 1 Tebing Tinggi in the second semester T.P
Semester 2017/2018. The sample is from class X MIA and XI MIA (143 students), and 2 teachers by random sampling technique. The methode of this study is descriptive methode. The data is obtained through questionnaire,
observation, and interview. The results of the data analysis show that the students' interest for
practicum is very good (89%), the condition of the laboratory is good (78%), the practicum time is good (64%), preparation and implementation of practicum is
good (76%), and practicum reports and evaluations is good (73%), and occupational health and safety classified is very good (92%). While the frequency of biology practicum implementation is still less good with a percentage of 50% for class X and 60% for class XI. The necessary facilities of biological laboratory are available with most of them are in good condition. The obstacle in the
implementation of Biology practicum are the lack of teacher in utilizing the laboratory facilities and many of the microscopes are founded not in the good condition (moldy).
