Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan; (1) persepsi guru IPAKelas IX SMP Negeri terhadap media Teknologi Informasi dalam pembelajaranBiologi, (2) implementasi TI sebagai media pembelajaran, (3) ketersediaan saranadan prasarana penunjang media TI, (4) faktor pendukung Sumber Daya Manusia,(5) Jenis media TI yang digunakan guru, (6) faktor usia dengan penggunaan mediaTI, (7) faktor pengalaman mengajar dengan penggunaan media TI, (8)faktortingkat pendidikan dengan penggunaan media TI, (9) masalah/hambatan yangdialami guru dalam penggunaan media TI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodedeskriptif dengan menggunakan 2 (dua) instrumen yang meliputiangket/kuesioner: tertutup dan terbuka, serta observasi. Populasi penelitianseluruh guru IPA Kelas lx SMP Negeri di Kota Medan, Sampel penelitian adalah50 orang guru IPA Kis IX SMP Negeri yang ada di Kota Medan denganmenggunakan random sampling. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa persepsiguru terhadap penggunaan media T1 termasuk kategori baik (83,8%),implementasi TI sebagai media pembelajaran termasuk katagori cukupbaik(71,94%), ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana termasuk katagori kurang balk(66,6%), faktor pendukung Sumber Daya Manusia termasuk kategori cukup baik(77,87%), jenis media TI yang digunakan guru pada pokok bahasan ReproduksiManusia dan Pewarisan Sifat: Power Point, diikuti video pembelajaran,selanjutnya Animasi, kemudian CD berbasis HTML, gabungan Power Point danAnimasi, dan yang terakhir menggunakan internet, tidak ada pengaruh faktor usiadengan penggunaan media TI, tidak ada pengaruh faktor pengalaman mengajardengan penggunaan media TI, dan ada pengaruh faktor tingkat pendidikan denganpenggunaan media TI, semakin tinggi tingkat pendidikan guru maka penggunaanmedia TI semakin tinggi, kurangnya sarana dan prasarana merupakan faktorutama hambatan/ masalah dalam penggunaan media TI (64%). Berdasarkan hasilpenelitian direkomendasikan pengadaan sarana dan prasarana media TI di SMPNegeri yang ada di Kota Medan, serta perlu adanya pelatihan bagi guru IPAtentang Teknologi Informasi.
