Abstract

This study concerns on how writing worksheet are developed for vocational high school. This study was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D) design. It was started from gathering data and information, analyzing data, designing new students’ writing worksheet, validating by experts, revising and final product. The new students’ writing worksheet was designed based on scientific approach stages, which is contained of five stages; observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. The source of data of this study was the grade X students of Tourism Study Program consisting 30 students. Instrument of collecting data were observation, questionnaire, and interview. After analyzing data, the researcher got the students’ need in learning English. The interview and questionnaire result proved that the students need students’ writing worksheet which contains for grade X. The students’ writing worksheet which developed was focused on descriptive text. The product had been validated by the experts. The average scores are 92 from English subject teacher and 93 from English lecturer. It means that developing students’ writing worksheet categorized as relevant for students grade X of Tourism Study Program.
