Abstract
This research is aimed to analyze utterances which contain implicature, referent, presupposition, inferent, in Germany folklore gathered by Grimm and brothers. A pragmatic approach is used as well to explore the intended meaning. In this research there is one folklore to be analised; that is die Bremer Stadtmusikanten.To analyse the folklore, the researcher employ the theory proposed by Brown and Yule(1996) which emphasize the discourse analysis and pragmatic. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. Some quantitative data is used to show the number of utterances and the pragmatics aspect.
