Abstract

This research aims to develop puzzle picture series as media in writing narrative text based on the students’ needs and curriculum 2006 for the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Besitang. There is one problem formulated in this research, How is puzzle picture series media developed for writing narrative text for the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Besitang. In order to answer the problem, it was conducted Research and Development (R & D) design through six phases; need analysis, planning/gathering information, developing media, validating to experts, revision of product, and final product. The number of the students was 35 students. The data of this study was collected by using need analysis questionnaire and expert judgment. Need analysis questionnaire was calculated by using percentage to get the information of students’ need before developing puzzle picture series media. Expert judgment data were calculated by using score average of criteria interval to know the validity of the puzzle picture series media which has been developed. After the data analyzed, it was that the experts’ judgment result was 85,5% which had a very good criteria interval.
