Abstract

The study aims to know: (1) The student learning outcomes within eXe learning media in problem-based learning, (2) The impact of student motivation to student learning outcomes, (3) The interaction between the eXe learning media in problem-based learning with students motivation in affect student learning outcomes, (4) A more dominant cognitive aspect mastered by students on eXe learning media in problem-based learning, and (5) Aspects of students motivation is more elevated on the eXe learning media in problem based learning. This research is a quasi-experimental. The study population were high school students of class XI Science Parulian 2 Medan. The sampling technique using a purposive sample (sample intended) that consists of two classes with a total sample of all 64 students. Research instruments such as achievement test and questionnaire students motivation. Pilot test using SPSS 13 and from 30 points over the 25 items tested there is a valid question. Test reliability obtained by R11 of 0.911 (very high), Requirements have been tested in the form of homogeneity. The technique of data analysis conducted with the General Linear Models (GLM) Univariat.The results showed that: (1) The students learning outcomes who learned by eXe learning media in problem-based learning get mean score gain = 0.72 (high category) are higher than student learning outcomes that learned without eXe learning media with a mean score gain = 0.57 (medium category), (2) The learning of students with high learning motivation get mean score gain = 0.87 (high category), student learning outcomes with the motivation to learn is get mean score gain = 0.70 (medium category), and results learning students with low motivation get mean score gain = 0.52 (lower categories). (3) There were no interactions between eXe learning media in problem-based learning with students motivation in influencing student learning outcomes, (4) The cognitive domain is the dominant mastered by students who learned by eXe learning media in problem-based learning is a C4 (analysis) with mean score gain = 0.74 (high category), and (5) Aspects of students motivation higher increment after learned by eXe learning media is trying to find a solution to solve the problem (88.50%).
