ANALYSIS OF BASIS SECTOR IN NORTH TAPANULI DISTRICT YEARS 2010 - 2016

The transformation of traditional societies towards the economies of advanced societies in their development is marked by the diminishing number of people whose lives are still dependent on the primary sector. The level of productivity in the agricultural sector is much lower than the level of productivity in the industrial sector. Because of the low productivity and income levels in agriculture means that most of the income is used for food needs. The formulation of the problem in this research: How Economic Structure in North Tapanuli District and what is the leading sector of the area. To know the economic structure of North Tapanuli District, it is necessary to know the economic sectors that become the leading sectors in the area. The analytical methods used to analyze the data and know the sectors of the economics of superiority In North Tapanuli is location Quotient (LQ) and Shift-Share method. Data used time series. Regarding PDRB ADHK 2010 North TapanuliDistrict and PDRB ADHK 2010 Province of North Sumatra, 2010-2016. Data source in this research is BPS North Tapanuli District and BPS Province Sumatera Utara. From the leading economic sector in the period of 2010-2016, it is known that the leading sectors of North Tapanuli are 4 types of business fields, namely Government Administration, Water Supply and Waste Management, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Education Services.
