Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan model Picture And Picture di kelas V SD Negeri 101772 Tanjung Selamat T.A 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa/i kelas III-b SD Negeri 101772 Tanjung Selamat yang berjumlah 25 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 11 orang siswa laki-laki dan 14 orang siswa perempuan. Objek penelitian ini adalah penerapan model Picture And Picture. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian tes dan observasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan pengamatan dan pencatatan terhadap proses belajar mengajar seperti yang tercantum pada skala nilai. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan model Picture And Picture pada pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas III SD Negeri 101772 Tanjung Selamat menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa yang berjumlah 25 orang siswa. Dari hasil pre test yang diberikan kepada 25 orang siswa. Diperoleh tingkat ketuntasan klasikal sebanyak 0 orang siswa yang mendapat nilai terampil dengan persentase (0%) dan 25 orang siswa yang mendapat nilai tidak terampil denagn persentase (100%) dengan niali rata-rata 53,62. Setelah dilaksanakan Siklus I siswa diberi post test Siklus I. Dari hasil post test Siklus I yang diberikan kepada 25 orang siswa diperoleh tingkat ketuntasan klasikal sebanyak 7 orang siswa yang mendapat nilai terampil dengan persentase (28,00%) dan 18 orang siswa yang mendapat nilai tidak terampil dengan persentase (72,00%) dengan nilai rata-rata 71,12. Di akhir siklus II siswa diberi post test siklus II. Dari hasil post test Siklus II yang diberikan kepada 25 orang siswa diperoleh tingkat ketuntasan klasikal sebanyak 22 orang siswa yang mendapat nilai terampil dengan persentase (88,00%) dan sebanyak 3 orang siswa yang mendapat nilai tidak mampu dengan persentase (12,00%) yang mencapai tingkat ketuntasan belajar dengan nilai rata-rata (80,72). Peningkatan juga terjadi pada aktivitas guru dengan perolehan nilai pada siklus I pertemuan 1 yaitu 53,75% dengan kriteria kurang, pertemuan 2 diperoleh nilai 70% dengan baik dan pada siklus II pertemuan 1 diperoleh nilai 82,5% dengan kriteria baik, pertemuan 2 diperoleh nilai 95% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Picture And Picture pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas III SD Negeri 101772 Tanjung Selamat. Oleh karena itu, model pembelajaran Picture And Picture dapat diterapkan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa.
