GENDER STEREOTYPE AND PERFORMATIVITY IN MOANA MOVIE

This study deals with the types of gender stereotype and masculine performances
and also the characterization of moral values of the main character in Moana
Movie. The objectives of the study are to identify gender stereotypes phenomenon
found in the movie and to describe how gender stereotypes prevail through the
characters in Moana Movie that represented by the main female character and also
to describe the relevance between moral values in Moana Movie and life viewed
from sociological approach. The data that support this study by using qualitative.
The findings are all types of gender stereotype found in the movie, there are also
masculine performances done by Moana as the main character, and the last found
that Moana brings the characteristic of moral value with her.
