MENULIS DENGAN PENDEKATAN PROSES SERTA TEKNIK PENILAIANNYA

Writing as one of the four language skills through which information can be widely disseminated plays a big role in educating a nation. This makes both student and lecturers need to have a good ability in the skill because it is these people who are supposed to be the sources of country. Without having agood ability to write in books, scientific journals, ect, they will not be able to make their ideas or findings known to other people which then will slow down the nation building. Despite its importance, there are not many good writers in Indonesia pr we can say that the writing ability of our university student or even graduates are still low, most probably this is the effect of the teaching of that language skill in the classroom which is focused on the correctness of the language rather than the content. The teaching of writing at schools and universities are still product oriented, ths does not build learners’ creativity or abilitu to develop ideas, actualy, it is the clarity, coherence, and cohesiveness of the content said in the piece of writing taht is more important. One approach which gives opportunity for the learners to develop creativity is that writing process Approach. There fore, it is recommended that teachers or lecturers employ this approach in teaching writing to their student. However, since classes in indonesia are large, the approach can not be fully applied. This artcle talks about why we need to apply the writing process approach in a flexible way as well as about its evaluation.
