METAPHOR IN KILLING ME INSIDE BAND SONG'S LYRIC

This research focused on metaphor used in Killing Me Inside band song’s lyric. The research was conducted by using qualitative research method. The data was collected from the song lyrics in Killing Me Inside first album. The findings of the thesis show that there are 55 occurrences of metaphor which classified into eight types of metaphor. They are active metaphor (2), inactive metaphor (0) subjective metaphor (21), mimetic metaphor (11), phenomenalistic metaphor (3), precision metaphor (4), symbolism metaphor (14) and approximate metaphor (0). The most dominant type of metaphor that used in Killing Me Inside band song’s lyricis subjective metaphorwith 38,18%. It means that the point of this album is a description of the idealism or the view of the band about life which become the theme. Subjective metaphor is kind metaphor that speaker have their own perspective that may have different ideological or physical view from the hearer, it create many interpretations from reader and hearer and made this album never stopped being discussed.
