Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education efektif terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Medan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Medan. Sampelnya adalah siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 20 Medan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII-2 SMP Negeri 20 Medan sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika, lembar observasi guru, dan lembar observasi siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa SMP Negeri 20 Medan.
