Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation dengan metode Know-Want-Learn terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Fluida Dinamis kelas XI semester II di SMA Negeri 21 Medan T.P. 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 21 Medan yang berjumlah 4 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yang ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling, yaitu Kelas XI IPA - 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA-4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan berganda dengan 5 pilihan jawaban sebanyak 15 soal yang telah dinyatakan valid oleh validator dan aktivitas siswa dengan menggunakan lembar observasi yang dilakukan oleh observer. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretes kelas eksperimen 26,86 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol diperoleh 26,86. Pada pengujian normalitas untuk pretes pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh Lhitung = 0,13076 dan Ltabel = 0,152. Pada kelas kontrol Lhitung = 0,10179 dan Ltabel = 0,152. Sehingga diperoleh Lhitung < Ltabel , maka data kedua kelas berdistribusi normal. Pada uji homogenitas diperoleh Fhitung = 1,08 dan Ftabel = 1,792 sehingga Fhitung < Ftabel , maka kedua sampel berasal dari populasi yang homogen. Kemudian pada kedua kelas diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation dengan metode Know Want Learn (KWL) dan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Setelah pembelajaran selesai diberikan, diperoleh postes dengan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen 74,7 dan kelas kontrol 63,53. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh thitung > ttabel yaitu 3,5 > 1,669 pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 dan dk = 66. Hal ini berarti Ha diterima, yang berarti ada pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation dengan metode Know Want Learn (KWL) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Fluida dinamis kelas XI semester II di SMA Negeri 21 Medan T.P 2016/2017. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan juga observasi aktivitas siswa, dimana tiap pertemuan ada peningkatan nilai aktivitas dan diperoleh nilai rata-rata aktivitas siswa dari pertemuan I hingga pertemuan III sebesar 69,75 dengan kategori aktif.
