Abstract

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan akibat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation (GI) terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Semester II SMA Swasta St. Thomas 3 Medan yang terdiri dari 5 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 5 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas X-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen berjumlah 36 orang dan kelas kontrol berjumlah 36 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar dan lembar observasi aktivitas belajar siswa. Tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan berganda dengan jumlah 20 soal yang telah divalidkan oleh validator kemudian di uji cobakan untuk mengetahui reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya beda soal. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebelum diberi perlakuan adalah 35,55 dan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional 35,27. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diberi perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI adalah 72,50 dan dengan pembelajaran konvensional adalah 62,63. Peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa selama mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI dengan persentase N-gain aktivitas untuk pertemuan I dan II adalah 15% yang termasuk pada kriteria rendah dan persentase N-gain aktivitas untuk pertemuan II dan III adalah 33% yang termasuk pada kriteria nilai sedang dan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional dengan persentase N-gain aktivitas untuk pertemuan I dan II adalah 11,8% dan persentase N-gain aktivitas untuk pertemuan II dan III adalah 14% yang termasuk pada kriteria nilai rendah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis perhitungan uji t, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan akibat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI terhadap hasil belajar siswa.
