Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Kemampuan Membaca Bahasa Inggris siswa dengan strategi pembelajaran Collabortive Strategic Reading (CSR) lebih tinggi dari diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran konvensional (strategi ekspositori). (2) Perbedaan hasil belajar Kemampuan Membaca Bahasa Inggris Siswa yang memiliki Motivasi berprestasi Tinggi dan Motivasi berprestasi Rendah. (3) Interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dan Motivasi berprestasi dalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar Kemampuan Membaca Bahasa Inggris Siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 8 kelas dari Sekolah Menegah Pertama Negeri 41Medan. Sampel penelitian diambil 2 kelas yaitu kelas VII1 dan kelas VII2. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Hasil belajar kemampuan membaca Bahasa Inggris siswa dalam memahami teks Narative yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran Collaborative strategic reading (CSR) lebih baik dari pada peserta didik yang diajar dengan strategi Pembelajaran ekspositori (strategi ekspositori). Hal ini dapat dilihat dari analisis data yang yang diperoleh dimana nilai F_hitung=48,38 sedangkan nilai F_tabel=4,01 sehinggga F_hitung>F_tabel. (2) Hasil belajar Kemampuan Membaca Bahasa Inggris Siswa dalam memahami teks Narative peserta didik yang memiliki Motivasi berprestasi tinggi lebih baik dari hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa yang memiliki motivasi berprestasi rendah. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari analisis data yang yang diperoleh dimana nilai F_hitung=144,14 sedangkan nilai F_tabel=4,01 sehinggga F_hitung>F_tabel. (3) Tidak terdapat interaksi faktor strategi pembelajaran (Collabotaive Strategic Reading dan ekspositori) dan motivasi berprestasi siswa (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah) dalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar kemampuan membaca bahasa Inggris dalam memahami teks narative. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari analisis data yang yang diperoleh dimana nilai F_hitung=3,00 sedangkan nilai F_tabel=4,01 sehinggga F_hitung<F_tabel.
