Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa disebabkan oleh rasa percaya diri siswa berbicara di depan teman-temannya relatif rendah dan juga kurangnnya kemampuan guru dalam menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang tepat sehingga guru kurang melatih kemampuan siswa untuk berbicara di depan kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan menggunakan metode Paired Story Telling pada materi cerita anak (fabel) di kelas V SD Negeri 106162 Medan Estate. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VB yang berjumlah 30 orang, terdiri dari 17 orang siswa laki-laki dan 13 orang siswa perempuan. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah tindakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan metode Paired Story Telling. Penelitian ini terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik observasi dan analisis data menggunakan analisis data kualitatif. Pada pra siklus sebelum diberikan tindakan dari jumlah siswa sebanyak 30 orang diperoleh 1 orang siswa sangat terampil dengan persentase (3,4%), 9 orang siswa terampil dengan persentase (30%), 13 orang siswa cukup terampil dengan persentase (43,3%), 7 orang siswa kurang terampil dengan persentase (23,3%) dalam berbicara dengan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa adalah 56,53 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 33,33%. Pada tindakan siklus I dengan penggunaan metode Paired Story Telling diperoleh 2 orang siswa sangat terampil dengan persentase (6,6%), 15 orang siswa terampil dengan persentase (50%), 8 orang siswa cukup terampil dengan persentase (26,7%), 5 orang siswa kurang terampil dengan persentase (16,7%) dalam berbicara dengan peningkatan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa menjadi 61,26 dengan pencapaian ketuntasan sebesar 56,66%. Pada tindakan siklus II secara signifikan diperoleh jumlah siswa yang terampil berbicara meningkat menjadi 5 orang siswa sangat terampil dengan persentase (17%), 21 orang siswa terampil dengan persentase (70%), 4 orang siswa cukup terampil dengan persentase (13%) dalam berbicara dengan nilai rata-rata menjadi 71,6 dengan presentase ketuntasan mencapai angka 86,66%. Pada penelitian ini dapat diperoleh peningkatan persentase kegiatan peneliti dalam mengajar. Pada siklus I pertemuan 1 persentase kegiatan peneliti dalam mengajar adalah 50%. Persentase yang diperoleh pada siklus I pertemuan 2 meningkat menjadi 73,21%. Pada siklus II pertemuan 1 persentase kegiatan peneliti dalam mengajar adalah 60,71%. Persentase kembali meningkat pada siklus II pertemuan 2 yaitu sebesar 89,28%. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode Paired Story Telling dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia materi cerita anak (fabel) di kelas V SD Negeri 106162 Medan Estate Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017.
