Abstract

Rendahnya hasil serta aktivitas belajar matematika yang diperoleh siswa mungkin disebabkan karena guru belum menggunakan model pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam belajar sehingga mempengaruhi hasil belajar matematika siswa. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan hasil serta aktivitas belajar siswa adalah menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model kooperatif tipe jigsaw pada materi pokok SPLDV di kelas VIII semester ganjil SMP Negeri 1 Binjai Tahun Pembelajaran 2016/2017. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas merupakan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh guru yang sekaligus peneliti di kelasnya atau bersama-sama dengan orang lain (kolaborasi) dengan jalan merancang, melaksanakan dan merefleksikan tindakan secara kolaboratif dan partisipatif yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki atau meningkatkan mutu proses pembelajaran di kelasnya. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa di kelas VIII SMP N 1 Binjai. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive random sampling, sehingga sampel yang diambil adalah kelas VIII-3. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa tes berbentuk essai dengan jumlah soal sebanyak 5 soal dan angket serta penilaian teman sejawat dan lembar observasi aktivitas belajar siswa. Dari hasil tes diagnostik diperoleh rata-rata hasil beajar siswa 52,92 yang masih jauh dari nilai ketuntasan minimum yang ingin dicapai. Hasil tes diagnostik digunakan sebagai dasar untuk merancang penelitian tindakan di siklus I dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh pada siklus I terjadi peningkatan rata-rata menjadi 65,90 dan aktivitas belajar siswa 60,28 dengan kategori aktif. Hasil ini masih belum mencapai target yang diharapkan dalam penelitian sehingga dilanjutkan ke siklus II. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan rata-rata menjadi 79,38 dan aktivitas belajar siswa 75,55 dengan kategori aktif. Hasil ini telah mencapai kriteria ketuntasan klasikal dan pencapai aktivitas siswa. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa model Pembelajaran Koperatif tipe Jigsaw dapat meningkatkan hasil dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi SPLDV di Kelas VIII semester I SMP N 1 Binjai T.P. 20016/2017. Disamping itu peneliti juga mengharapkan bagi guru yang ingin menerapkan pembelajaran dengan model ini harus memperhatikan alokasi waktu dalam merancang rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan memperhatikan pokok-pokok materi pembelajaran yang akan disampaikan agar dapat tercakup pada review yang dibuat oleh siswa.
