Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan perpustakaan untuk meningkatkan minat membaca buku biologi di kelas XI IPA MAN 2 Model Medan. Metode penelitian yaitu metode deskriptif yang memberikan gambaran tentang peranan perpustakaan sekolah secara kongkret sesuai perkembangan perpustakaan. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA MAN 2 Model Medan yang terdiri dari 9 kelas dan diambil 2 kelas dengan sampel 72 orang. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif analisis. Sebagai hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan bagaimana peranan perpustakan sekolah untuk meningkatkan minat membaca siswa, untuk mempermudah siswa dalam mengerjakan tugas-tugas yang diberikan guru bidang studinya yaitu biologi. Hasil analisis data yang diperoleh adalah “ ada peranan perpustakaan sekolah untuk meningkatkan minat membaca buku biologi siswa di kelas XI IPA MAN 2 Model Medan”. Peranan perpustakaan sekolah mendapatkan hasil presentasi sebesar 84,55% dan masih tergolong cukup berperan terhadap minat membaca siswa.
