Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat model pembelajaran yan Iebih balk antara model pembelajaran Role Playing dengan model pembelajaran konvensional dan hash belajar yang lebih tinggi antara siswa yag memiliki kemampuan kognitif tinggi dengan yang memiliki kemampuan kognitif rendah.Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Pertiwi Medan semester 2 tahun ajaran 2005/2006. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 80 orang diambil berdasarkan teknik pengambilan sampel secara acak. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes hasil belajar Pengetahuan Sosial dan Tes Kognitif . Tes hasil belajar berbentuk pilihan ganda berjumlah 45 butir digunakan untuk mengukur pencapaian basil belajar Pengetahuan sosial . Tes kognitif digunakan adalah tes CPM untuk rnengetahui kelompok siswa yang memiliki kemampuan kognitif tinggi dan kemampuan kognitif rendah.Teknik analisis data menggunakan anava untuk jtunlah sel yang sama dilakukan uji Tuckey pada taraf signifikan a = 5 %. Pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Hasil belajar Pengetahuan Sosial siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran role playing lebih tingi debandingkan dengan pembelajaran model konvensional, (2) Hasil belajar Pengetahuan sosial siswa yang memiliki kemampuan kognitif tinggi lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memiliki kemampuan kognitif rendah dan (3) Terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dengan kemampuan kognitif dalam memberikan pengaruh terhadap basil belajar Pengetahuan Sosial.
