Abstract

Sistem pengapian dianggap pelajaran yang membosankan dan menjenuhkan dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga banyak siswa yang belum memahami materi pelajaran dengan baik dan membuat hasil belajarnya rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran memperbaiki sistem pengapian pokok bahasan mengidentifikasi sistem pengapian dan komponen-komponennya dengan menggunakan metode Problem Solving di kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan I SMK MandiriPercutsei Tuan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), subjek dalam penelitian ini siswa kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan I SMK Mandiri Percut sei Tuan tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 sebanyak 32 orang siswa. Pelaksanaan tindakan dilakukan selama 2 siklus, dimana setiap siklus dilakukan dua kali pertemuan. Dalam setiap siklus dilakukan 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan lembar observasi. Pada siklus I diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa 67,81 dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa sebanyak 15 orang (46,86%) sedangkan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa pertemuan pertama diperoleh rata-rata 42,4% dan pada pertemuan kedua diperoleh rata-rata 61,8% tergolong rendah. Padasiklus II diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa 87,5 dengan ketuntasan belajar sebanyak 30 orang (93,75%) yang telah tuntas dan 2 orang (6,25%) masih belum tuntas sedangkan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa pertemuan pertama diperoleh rata-rata 76,24% tergolong sedang dan pertemuan kedua diperoleh nilai 83,7% tergolong tinggi. Disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode Problem Solving dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran sistem pengapian pokok bahasan mengidentifikasi sistem pengapian dan komponen-komponennya dari pretes rata-rata hasil belajar 41,56 kemudian dilakukan tindakan pada siklus I rata-rata hasil belajar 67,81 sedangkan pada siklus II rata-rata hasil belajar 87,5.
