PEMANFAATAN SITUS MAKAM SISINGAMANGARAJA XII SEBAGAI SUMBER PEMBELAJARAN SEJARAH DALAM MATERI PERLAWANAN BANGSA INDONESIA MENENTANG DOMINASI ASING DI SMA BALIGE

This research aims to : (1) find out the potensial of Sisingamangaraja XII grave sites as a source of teaching history. (2) find out utilization Sisingamangaraja XII grave sites by history teachers and students specially in the material resistence against foreign domination nation in senior high school of Balige as a source of teaching history. (3) Determine student perception to utilizatin Sisingamangaraja XII grave sites as a source of teaching history. This research used descriptive qualitative research method, with informant guard tomb of Sisingamangaraja XII, history teachers in senior high school os Balige (SMA N 1 Balige, SMA N 2 Balige, and SMA Bintang Timur Balige), and students grade XI IPS. Data collected by observation, interview and documentation. These result indicate that the potential Sisingamangaraja XII grave sites as a source of teaching hiistory contained in the ornaments namely ornaments building (tombs, wells, house of Batak), reliefs (gorga of Batak, Lions, Simbol of Sisingamangaraja XII, written (batak script, Batak Toba, Indonesian), Batak color (red, white, and black). Utilization of historical sites Sisingamangaraja XII tomb has not been fully exploited by teachers and students as well as a source of learning. Couse not optimal utilization of historical sites Sisingamangaraja XII tomb as a source of teaching history, namely : learning materials that discuss the peoples resistance Batak only for reviews at a glance, teacher do not get used to in utilizing historical sites as a source of teaching history, so students do not understand the historical sites in Toba Samosir regenly and lack information about the use of historical sites as a meanss to increase knowledge. Based on the results of studies conducted, researchers were able to conclude that the historical heritage sites particularly grave sites Sisingamangaraja XII not fully utilized as a source of teaching history, then there needs to be a stimulant to the community in the education environment, so that sites of historical relics can be put to good use in order to support national education.
