Abstract

This study deals with students problem in writing spoof text. The objective of this study is to find out the students problem in writing spoof text and designing teaching learning activities to solve the students’ problem. The sample of this study was the third year students of SMA NEGERI I Pematang Raya. This study used qualitative research; a case study. The data were collected by observing the teaching learning activities in the classroom and by analyzing the students score in writing spoof text based on the topic that the students chose. From 28 students, there were 10 students were able in writing spoof text well and 18 students faced problems in writing spoof text. The result shows that the mean of students score was 65,28 and it means that it was not appropriate with the curriculum standard (KKM). To solve the students problem in writing spoof text, a teaching learning activities design of video, material design, and lesson plan to be applied by the teacher of English are proposed.
