Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran discovery terhadap kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMK Swasta GKPS 2 Pematangsiantar Tahun Pembelajaran 2013/2014 yang berjumlah 229 orang siswa. Sampel diambil secara acak kelas yaitu kelas X TKR 1 yang berjumlah 30 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah essai.Dari pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X SMK swasta GKPS 2 Pematangsiantar tahun pembelajaran 2013/2014 sebelum penerapan model pembelajaran discovery (pre-test) masuk ke dalam kategori cukup dengan nilai rata-rata = 62,83, standard deviasi = 9,10 sedangkan kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X SMK swasta GKPS 2 Pematangsiantar tahun pembelajaran 2013/2014 setelah penerapan model pembelajaran discovery (post-test) masuk ke dalam kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata = 79,50, standard deviasi = 7,57. Dari uji data hasil pre-test dan post-test didapat kedua hasil berdistribusi normal. Dari uji homogenitas di dapat bahwa sampel penelitian ini berasal dari populasi yang homogen. Setelah uji normalitas dan homogenitas, di dapatlah to sebesar 7,58. Selanjutnya setelah to diketahui, kemudian dikonsultasikan dengan tabel t pada taraf signifikasi 5% dengan df=N-1=30-1=29 dari df = 30 diperoleh taraf signifikasi 5%=2,04, karena to yang diperoleh lebih besar dari tabel yaitu 7,58 > 2,04, maka hipotesis diterima.Akhirnya dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan atas penerapan model pembelajaran discovery terhadap kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X SMK Swasta GKPS 2 Pematangsiantar Tahun Pembelajaran 2013/2014.
