Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of collegian interest independent learning and time management to index learning achievement economic studies program class of 2015 State University of Medan. This study was conducted at Faculty of Economics Unimed at Willem Iskandar Street Pasar V, Medan Estate in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. The sampling technique used in this study is a simple random sampling, that portion of the sample is 112 people, and the instrument used to measure interest independent learning and time management is in the form of questionnaire.The validity of the test were tested using product moment correlation technique with the results of 25 independent learning instrument contained 20 questions are valid and invalid about 5 and 25, there are 20 time management instruments valid question and 5 about invalid. Reliability of the test were tested using Cronbach alpha formula with the reliability of the results for learning independence amounted rcount> rtabel (0915 > 0.3338) and for time management rcount> rtabel (0904> 0.3338). Data analysis technique used is by t test at significance level alpha 5%, the results obtained demonstrate independent learning significantly influence learning achievement index where tcount> t table (4.099> 1.981). And time management significantly influence learning achievement index where tcount> t table (3.371> 1.981). The results obtained in the F test showed that the variables independent learning and time management significantly influence to Index Learning Achievement Economic Studies Program Class of 2015 State University of Medan with the value of F> F table (75.167 > 3.08). The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained by a linear line equation Y=0639+ 0,490X1+0,458X2. Based on the results of this study concluded that independent learning and time management influence on student achievement index economic studies program class of 2015 State University Of Medan
