Abstract

The objective of this study is to know description skill of Biology teacher in preparing and implementing leson plan at Senior High School in Kabupaten Karo based on Standart Process and the guidelines of Curriculum 2013 development. This research object was four of biology teacher and 126 students from four school in Kabupaten Karo . This research data was taken by using questionairres observation and document analysis. Data was analysed by deskriptif percentation analysis. Research result showed that the skill of teacher in preparing lesson plan was good (80.9 %) with deviation standard 17.6. Reviewed from parameter leson plan component, the skill of Biology teacher in preparing lesson plan in general information component was low (57%), subject identity is very good (100%), formulation of indicator was good (85.2%), formulation of learning goals was good (84.1), Selecting of teaching materials was good (87.4%), selection of learning resources was good (84.3), selection of learning media was enough (84.8%), learning models was low (83.6%), learning scenario was enough (87.9 %), asesment of learning outcome was enough (83.3%). Overview of the result of the study show that the skill of biology teacher at Senior high school in Tanah Karo in preparing lesson plan enough. Research result showed that the skill of teacher in implementing lesson plan was enough (75.3%) with devition standard 24,0. The skill of Biology teacher in Apperception and motivation was enough (77.8%). In delivery of competence and plan activities in opening stage was low (68.6%). The skill of teacher in core activity in mastery subject matter was enough (73.7%), aplication of Learning strategies that educating was enough (73.6%), aplication of scientific approach was low (65.2%), use of learning resources was enough (74.6%), application of authentic assesment was enough (78.0%), learner engagement in learning was good (82.8%), using true and correct language was good (80.6%). The skills of Biology teacher in learning closures was enough (78.1%). Recommended that the socialization, training about curiculum 2013 do continue and compherensive so that the ability of biology teacher in preparing lesson plan can suitable with standar process and the guidelines of curriculum 2013 development.
