Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok kalor dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Semester II SMA Muhammadiyah 8 Kisaran yang terdiri dari 7 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 7 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas X 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 36 orang dan kelas X 5 sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 36 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar.Tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan berganda sebanyak 20 soal dengan 5 option yang telah dinyatakan valid. Pengujian hipotesis dengan uji t satu pihak. Berdasarkan analisa data diperoleh peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada pertemuan pertama, kedua dan ketiga untuk kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation berbantu peta konsep dan hasil uji hipotesisi diperoleh thitung> ttabel yaitu 1,74 >1,669 pada taraf signifikan = 0,05 dan dk = 60. Hal ini berarti Ha diterima dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok kalor dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI berbantu peta konsep lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran konvensional.
