Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran biologi dengan menggunakan metode bermain peran (role playing) pada Materi Pokok Sistem Ekskresi Manusia di kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 5 Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Medan tahun Pembelajaran 2013/2014 yang terdiri dari 10 kelas yang berjumlah keseluruhan 313 orang. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 2 dengan jumlah siswa 33 orang yang diambil dengan cara acak (random sampling). Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes objektif dalam bentuk pilihan ganda yang telah diujicobakan validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan sebanyak 30 soal. Dalam penelitian ini, keefektifan suatu pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari tiga indikator yaitu (1) Tingkat Penguasaan Siswa, (2) Ketuntasan Belajar Siswa dan (3) Ketuntasan Pencapaian Indikator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tingkat penguasaan siswa secara umum tergolong tinggi dengan rentang nilai berada pada 80-89 dengan persentase sebesar 51%. (2) Secara klasikal siswa telah tuntas belajar (91%), dan terdapat 3 orang siswa (9%) yang belum tuntas. (3) Persentase pencapaian indikator adalah 83,3% dimana 5 dari 6 indikator telah tercapai. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode role playing pada materi pokok Sistem Ekskresi Manusia di kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2013/2014 adalah efektif.
