Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Pagaran dengan penerapan model pembelajaran koperatif jigsaw pada materi geometri. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 4 Pagaran dan sebanyak 30 siswa. Objek penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan proses pembelajaran dengan penerapan model pembelajaran koperatif jigsaw untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi geometri. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Tes Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah dan Pedoman Observasi Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran. Tes yang diberikan berbentuk uraian yang terlebih dahulu sudah divalidasi oleh bantuan dua validator, yaitu seorang dosen matematika Unimed dan seorang guru matematika SMP Negeri 4 Pagaran.Untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal siswa dalam memecahkan masalah maka diberikan tes awal dan diperoleh skor rata-rata siswa 27,25 atau dalam kategori sangat rendah serta belum ada siswa yang mencapai persentase setiap langkah pemecahan masalah lebih besar dari 70% atau yang mencapai ketuntasan pemecahan masalah. Setelah diberikan tindakan pada siklus I, maka diberikan Tes Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah I. Dari hasil tes diperoleh skor rata-rata siswa 57,6 atau dalam kategori sedang serta siswa yang tuntas dalam memecahkan masalah sebanyak 14 siswa (47,5%). Karena persentase ketuntasan pemecahan masalah belum tercapai maka pemberian tindakan dilanjutkan pada siklus II. Setelah diberikan tindakan pada siklus II, maka diberikan Tes Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah II. Dari hasil tes diperoleh skor rata-rata siswa 68,6 atau dalam kategori tinggi serta siswa yang tuntas dalam memecahkan masalah sebanyak 26 siswa (87,5%) atau persentase ketuntasan pemecahan masalah telah tercapai. Dari siklus I ke siklus II diperoleh peningkatan banyak siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan pemecahan masalah sebanyak 12 siswa (40%) dan skor rata-rata meningkat sebesar 9,0.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan penerapan model pembelajaran koperatif jigsaw dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi geometri.
