Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction dan Make a Match pada materi pokok aritmatika sosial di kelas VII SMP Swasta PAB 8 Sampali T.A 2012/2013. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 25 siswa kelas VII-1 SMP Swasta PAB 8 Sampali dan objek penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction dan Make a Match untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok aritmatika sosial. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data adalah tes dan lembar observasi. Tes digunakan untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal yang berkaitan dengan aritmatika sosial dan lembar observasi digunakan untuk melihat proses pembelajaran ketika model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction dan Make a Match diterapkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dibagi atas 2 siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari 3 kali pertemuan. Sebelum memberikan tindakan, terlebih dahulu diberikan tes awal dan setiap akhir siklus diberikan tes hasil belajar. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh peningkatan hasil tes awal sampai tes hasil belajar siswa. Banyaknya siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar dari tes awal yaitu 6 dari 25 siswa atau 24% dengan rata-rata kelas 48,6. Hasil analisis data pada siklus I setelah dilakukan model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction dan Make a Match menunjukkan banyaknya siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar adalah 11 dari 25 siswa atau 44% dengan rata-rata kelas 63,8. Hasil analisis data akhir siklus II dengan pembelajaran yang sama diperoleh banyak siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar yaitu 22 dari 25 siswa atau 88% dengan rata-rata kelas 80,4. Ini berarti terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari siklus I hingga siklus II. Berdasarkan kriteria ketuntasan belajar klasikal maka pembelajaran ini telah mencapai target ketuntasan belajar. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction dan Make a Match, hasil belajar siswa khususnya pada materi pokok aritmatika sosial kelas VII SMP Swasta PAB 8 Sampali meningkat. Saran yang diajukan yaitu guru dapat menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction dan Make a Match sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa.
